The Natural and Medical Sciences Institute (NMI) in Reutlingen, Germany (www.nmi.de(link is external)) is a research institute which produces high-quality MEAs using utmost biocompatible materials. The NMI and Multi Channel Systems have collaborated on many projects and over many years. The MEA production is ISO 9001:2008 certified, so quality controls and standardized production processes ensure that the MEAs are always of excellent and consistent quality.

In order to supply MEAs for all different types of recording systems and to cover as many applications as possible, Multi Channel Systems has plenty of MEAs in its portfolio. Please click on the description tab above and learn more about our different MEAs.

 

Features

  • Available with opaque (titanium) and transparent (ITO) tracks and contact pads
  • Most types available with internal reference electrode replacing the Ag/AgCl pellet in the bath
  • Long life, can be reused several times
  • Electrode layout for all applications

  • Substrate-integrated reference electrode for almost all MEAs

MEAs for Headstage Preamplifiers

 

The Natural and Medical Sciences Institute (NMI) in Reutlingen, Germany (www.nmi.de) is a research institute which produces high-quality MEAs using utmost biocompatible materials. The NMI and Multi Channel Systems have collaborated on many projects and over many years. Quality controls and production processes have been improved over the last years so that MEAs are always of excellent and consistent quality. Electrodes of Flex MEAs are imbedded in a thin and very flexible polyimide foil. This flexibility allows to attach the MEAs tightly to the surface of brain or heart preparations.

EcoFlexMEAs:

  • Made of flexible polyimide foil (50 μm thick)
  • Low cost-option for routine in vivo/ex vivo experiments and specific in vitro applications
  • Available with 24 and 36 electrodes
  • Gold electrodes
  • Can easily be connected to MCS headstages

Standard FlexMEAs:

  • Made of flexible polyimide foil (12 μm thick)
  • Available with 36 and 72 electrodes
  • For in vivo/ex vivo experiments and specific in vitro applications
  • Titanium nitride electrodes
  • Can easily be connected to MCS headstages

Please note: FlexMEAs are not compatible with all other MEA amplifiers!
